Probably the greatest novel ever written, and how many other stories are as good after a dozen readings as it was the first time?
I know several excellent audio versions of this story, but not this one.

Well saucy, Merida. I thought you were trying to raise the tone around here, now you inflict this bawdy salaciousness upon us?! Oddly enough, Gibbon loved this book and was greatly influenced by the style (the humourous asides, etc.).

Unabashed comic and narrative brilliance in one of the first English novels.
Definitely worth a visit, or a re-visit.

@jodindy - thanks, yes I spotted the other edition you had posted, both great choices of narrator according to reviews, and more choice is always a good thing in my book!
