If Donald J Trump ever wrote a book of literary criticism, this would be it. (TFG isn’t smart enough to write anything as nasty as Welleck and Warren). I’m not saying you shouldn’t read it, but at least consider: Practical Criticism; Seven Types of Ambiguity; or An ABC of Reading as well.
Of course, the best way to learn to read is by choosing challenging reading material. The Running Grave is excellent.
