David Timson job on this Ancient book is absolutely Fabulous, I read it 3 times. Me personally I found the persian wars chapter to be less exciting while the rest of the book is gorgeous especially the Egyptian,mesopotamian chapters. and cambyses chapter is much fun. if anyone intimidated by it, listen to Elizabeth Vandiver Great Courses lectures on it beforehand to make it more dijastbaul. the book is 23 hours If I remember.
